Moshi App Review: Cost, Free Stories, and Bedtime Use

What the Moshi app offers at bedtime, what you can try free, how its prices and new family bundle work, and where Gushi fits.

What is the Moshi app?

Moshi is a children's app with narrated stories, meditations, music, and sounds. Its bedtime content is audio, so a child can listen without watching a screen. Moshi's homepage describes the catalog, and its FAQs explain how bedtime listening works.

Moshi is worth considering if your child likes recurring characters and you want several kinds of audio in one app. The choice gets less obvious when you only need a short story, or when a subscription offer includes other apps you do not plan to use.

We checked Moshi's public product pages, help articles, and US App Store listing on August 28, 2026. This is a review of those published details, not a hands-on test or a claim that either app will improve your child's sleep. Gushi publishes this comparison.

How much does Moshi cost?

The price depends on where you subscribe and which offer you see. At the time of this review, Moshi's website advertised $49.99 USD per year, billed annually, or $9.99 USD per month, with a seven-day trial. Those are the displayed web offers, not a promise that every checkout has the same price.

The US App Store listing also showed $12.99 monthly purchases and $79.99 Premium purchases, alongside other price points. The Premium labels do not spell out every offer's billing period. Check the actual payment screen for the amount, renewal date, and included apps before accepting it.

Moshi's subscription guide confirms monthly and annual plans and says prices vary with location and promotions. A lower price on a web page does not establish the price of the new family bundle.

Is Moshi free?

Moshi is free to download and has a selection of free content. Full access requires a subscription. Its trial guide describes a seven-day trial of the stories, meditations, music, and sounds, with cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Check eligibility before starting. Moshi says the trial can be redeemed once, and trying again after a previous trial can trigger an immediate subscription charge. Payment details are required for the trial. Those terms are in its free-trial policy. The current FAQs also say discounted promotional subscriptions do not include a trial.

Start with the unlocked content if you are still deciding. If you activate a trial, note the renewal terms while they are on the screen. Free to download and free to keep using the whole library are different offers.

Can it play without a screen or Wi-Fi?

Yes. Moshi says its bedtime audio keeps playing with the screen off and the device put away. The same FAQs say existing activities in Moshi Kids can be switched off during the bedtime schedule. That is useful if you want audio at night without opening the games.

For offline listening, download tracks while you still have an internet connection. Moshi's offline guide says downloaded tracks appear in the Library's Downloaded tab. Stay logged in, and select the profile you need before disconnecting. Only the last-used profile opens when the app launches offline.

Test the download and the right profile before a trip. These instructions concern Moshi's audio app. Separate Moshi apps have their own offline rules.

What changed with the five-app bundle?

Moshi's family bundle guide, published August 17, 2026, describes one subscription covering Moshi Kids, Moshi Play, Moshi Coloring World, Moshi Drawing for Toddlers, and Moshi Color with Fluttercup. The bundle is sold through Apple and Google Play, not the Moshi website.

The billing warning matters more than the app count. Moshi says buying the bundle does not automatically cancel an existing individual subscription, including one purchased on its website. You must cancel the old subscription through its original provider to avoid paying for both at renewal. The same guide explains where to do that.

Consider the bundle if your family will use the play or drawing apps as well as the audio. If you only want bedtime stories, compare the standalone offer first. Extra apps are useful only if someone in the house wants them.

Moshi and Gushi at a glance

Moshi's FAQs and free-content guide support its entries below. Gushi's bedtime stories app guide describes our iPhone app, multiple character voices, and stories that run about two to five minutes. You can read the stories free on the web before trying the narration.

Where Gushi fits

Choose Gushi if you want to read a story first and decide whether its theme fits tonight. Browse the story library by age and theme, or start with the short bedtime stories selection. The free bedtime stories guide explains web reading and app audio.

For a specific example, try Counting Clouds with Coco. Coco starts the day grumpy, then counts imaginary cloud shapes and takes slow breaths with her friends. The story is listed for ages 3 to 6 and runs 3 minutes 42 seconds in audio. You can read it first and decide whether your child would enjoy the squirrel and her very silly clouds.

If the subject you want is feeling overwhelmed by noise, Taylor's Quiet Shell follows a turtle who finds a quieter moment during family play. Pick the story for the situation your child recognizes, without treating a fictional ending as a sleep promise.

Which should you try tonight?

Try Moshi's free content if your child wants a recurring character world or you want to choose between stories and other audio. If you already like its stories, check the standalone subscription before paying for a bundle. Try Gushi if previewing the full text and choosing one short story is enough for your evening.

If you want to start with a public podcast feed, our bedtime story podcasts for kids guide compares three children's shows and explains when a shorter story fits.

If you want help placing the story within the evening, use the toddler bedtime routine guide. Choose the story before lights out, finish the routine, and leave the subscription comparison for tomorrow.
